بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

1. إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ

2. لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ

3. خَافِضَةٌۭ رَّافِعَةٌ

4. إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجًّۭا

5. وَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسًّۭا

6. فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءًۭ مُّنۢبَثًّۭا

7. وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا ثَلَٰثَةًۭ

8. فَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ

9. وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ

10. وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ

11. أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ

12. فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

13. ثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

14. وَقَلِيلٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ

15. عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مَّوْضُونَةٍۢ

16. مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ

17. يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ

18. بِأَكْوَابٍۢ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍۢ مِّن مَّعِينٍۢ

19. لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ

20. وَفَٰكِهَةٍۢ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ

21. وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍۢ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ

22. وَحُورٌ عِينٌۭ

23. كَأَمْثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤْلُؤِ ٱلْمَكْنُونِ

24. جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

25. لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًۭا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا

26. إِلَّا قِيلًۭا سَلَٰمًۭا سَلَٰمًۭا

27. وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ

28. فِى سِدْرٍۢ مَّخْضُودٍۢ

29. وَطَلْحٍۢ مَّنضُودٍۢ

30. وَظِلٍّۢ مَّمْدُودٍۢ

31. وَمَآءٍۢ مَّسْكُوبٍۢ

32. وَفَٰكِهَةٍۢ كَثِيرَةٍۢ

33. لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍۢ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍۢ

34. وَفُرُشٍۢ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ

35. إِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءًۭ

36. فَجَعَلْنَٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا

37. عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًۭا

38. لِّأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ

39. ثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

40. وَثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ

41. وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ

42. فِى سَمُومٍۢ وَحَمِيمٍۢ

43. وَظِلٍّۢ مِّن يَحْمُومٍۢ

44. لَّا بَارِدٍۢ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ

45. إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ

46. وَكَانُوا۟ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

47. وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ

48. أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ

49. قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْءَاخِرِينَ

50. لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ

51. ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ

52. لَءَاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍۢ مِّن زَقُّومٍۢ

53. فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ

54. فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ

55. فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ

56. هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ

57. نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ

58. أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ

59. ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ

60. نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ

61. عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

62. وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ

63. أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ

64. ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ

65. لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ حُطَٰمًۭا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ

66. إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ

67. بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ

68. أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِى تَشْرَبُونَ

69. ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَ

70. لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَٰهُ أُجَاجًۭا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ

71. أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى تُورُونَ

72. ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ

73. نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَٰهَا تَذْكِرَةًۭ وَمَتَٰعًۭا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ

74. فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

75. ۞ فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ

76. وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٌۭ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ

77. إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرْءَانٌۭ كَرِيمٌۭ

78. فِى كِتَٰبٍۢ مَّكْنُونٍۢ

79. لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ

80. تَنزِيلٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

81. أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ

82. وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ

83. فَلَوْلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَ

84. وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍۢ تَنظُرُونَ

85. وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ

86. فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ

87. تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

88. فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

89. فَرَوْحٌۭ وَرَيْحَانٌۭ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍۢ

90. وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ

91. فَسَلَٰمٌۭ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ

92. وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

93. فَنُزُلٌۭ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍۢ

94. وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ

95. إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ

96. فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

Context of Revelation

Surah Al-Waqi‘a (The Event) is a Meccan surah consisting of 96 verses. Revealed during the middle period of the Prophet’s ﷺ mission in Mecca, it powerfully depicts the Day of Judgment and the division of humanity according to their deeds.

The surah takes its name from the opening verse, “When the Event occurs,” referring to the inevitable Day of Resurrection. It was revealed at a time when the Quraysh questioned the concept of resurrection and divine justice. Its purpose was to strengthen the faith of believers and warn those who denied the truth.

Main Teachings and Key Insights

Surah Al-Waqi‘a vividly portrays the certainty of the Hereafter and the inevitable consequences of human actions. It divides humanity into three categories and reminds of mankind’s total dependence on God. Its core teachings include:

  • The absolute certainty of the Final Hour and the collapse of worldly existence. (vv. 1–12)
  • The three groups of people: the foremost (as-sābiqūn), the people of the right (aṣḥāb al-yamīn), and the people of the left (aṣḥāb ash-shimāl). (vv. 7–56)
  • The depiction of Paradise and Hell, each reflecting divine justice. (vv. 10–56)
  • The signs of God’s creative power in rain, fire, seeds, and sustenance. (vv. 57–74)
  • The reminder of death and the human inability to resist God’s decree. (vv. 83–96)

According to authentic traditions, the Prophet ﷺ recommended reciting this surah regularly—especially at night—as a source of divine blessing and sustenance.

Structure and Main Themes

  • Introduction (vv. 1–6): the cataclysmic end of the world and the beginning of the Hereafter.
  • The three categories of people (vv. 7–56): rewards for the faithful and punishment for the wicked.
  • Signs of divine power (vv. 57–74): reflections on creation, water, fire, and provision as evidence of God’s control.
  • Conclusion (vv. 83–96): the inevitability of death and the return to God.

The tone of the surah is majestic and contemplative. It awakens spiritual awareness by confronting humanity with the ultimate reality of accountability and divine sovereignty.

Key Verse

The central verse is verse 63:

أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ
