0. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
bookmark 1. When the inevitable occurs.
1. إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ
bookmark 2. Of its occurrence, there is no denial.
2. لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
bookmark 3. Bringing low, raising high.
3. خَافِضَةٌۭ رَّافِعَةٌ
bookmark 4. When the earth is shaken with a shock.
4. إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجًّۭا
bookmark 5. And the mountains are crushed and crumbled.
5. وَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسًّۭا
bookmark 6. And they become scattered dust.
6. فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءًۭ مُّنۢبَثًّۭا
bookmark 7. And you become three classes.
7. وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا ثَلَٰثَةًۭ
bookmark 8. Those on the Right—what of those on the Right?
8. فَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ
bookmark 9. And those on the Left—what of those on the Left?
9. وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ
bookmark 10. And the forerunners, the forerunners.
10. وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ
bookmark 11. Those are the nearest.
11. أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ
bookmark 12. In the Gardens of Bliss.
12. فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
bookmark 13. A throng from the ancients.
13. ثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
bookmark 14. And a small band from the latecomers.
14. وَقَلِيلٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
bookmark 15. On luxurious furnishings.
15. عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مَّوْضُونَةٍۢ
bookmark 16. Reclining on them, facing one another.
16. مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ
bookmark 17. Serving them will be immortalized youth.
17. يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
bookmark 18. With cups, pitchers, and sparkling drinks.
18. بِأَكْوَابٍۢ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍۢ مِّن مَّعِينٍۢ
bookmark 19. Causing them neither headache, nor intoxication.
19. لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ
bookmark 20. And fruits of their choice.
20. وَفَٰكِهَةٍۢ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
bookmark 21. And meat of birds that they may desire.
21. وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍۢ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
bookmark 22. And lovely companions.
22. وَحُورٌ عِينٌۭ
bookmark 23. The likenesses of treasured pearls.
23. كَأَمْثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤْلُؤِ ٱلْمَكْنُونِ
bookmark 24. As a reward for what they used to do.
24. جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
bookmark 25. Therein they will hear no nonsense, and no accusations.
25. لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًۭا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا
bookmark 26. But only the greeting: “Peace, peace.”
26. إِلَّا قِيلًۭا سَلَٰمًۭا سَلَٰمًۭا
bookmark 27. And those on the Right—what of those on the Right?
27. وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ
bookmark 28. In lush orchards.
28. فِى سِدْرٍۢ مَّخْضُودٍۢ
bookmark 29. And sweet-smelling plants.
29. وَطَلْحٍۢ مَّنضُودٍۢ
bookmark 30. And extended shade.
30. وَظِلٍّۢ مَّمْدُودٍۢ
bookmark 31. And outpouring water.
31. وَمَآءٍۢ مَّسْكُوبٍۢ
bookmark 32. And abundant fruit.
32. وَفَٰكِهَةٍۢ كَثِيرَةٍۢ
bookmark 33. Neither withheld, nor forbidden.
33. لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍۢ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍۢ
bookmark 34. And uplifted mattresses.
34. وَفُرُشٍۢ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ
bookmark 35. We have created them of special creation.
35. إِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءًۭ
bookmark 36. And made them virgins.
36. فَجَعَلْنَٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا
bookmark 37. Tender and un-aging.
37. عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًۭا
bookmark 38. For those on the Right.
38. لِّأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
bookmark 39. A throng from the ancients.
39. ثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
bookmark 40. And a throng from the latecomers.
40. وَثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
bookmark 41. And those on the Left—what of those on the Left?
41. وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ
bookmark 42. Amid searing wind and boiling water.
42. فِى سَمُومٍۢ وَحَمِيمٍۢ
bookmark 43. And a shadow of thick smoke.
43. وَظِلٍّۢ مِّن يَحْمُومٍۢ
bookmark 44. Neither cool, nor refreshing.
44. لَّا بَارِدٍۢ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ
bookmark 45. They had lived before that in luxury.
45. إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ
bookmark 46. And they used to persist in immense wrongdoing.
46. وَكَانُوا۟ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
bookmark 47. And they used to say, “When we are dead and turned into dust and bones, are we to be resurrected?
47. وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
bookmark 48. And our ancient ancestors too?”
48. أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
bookmark 49. Say, “The first and the last.
49. قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
bookmark 50. Will be gathered for the appointment of a familiar Day.”
50. لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ
bookmark 51. Then you, you misguided, who deny the truth.
51. ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ
bookmark 52. Will be eating from the Tree of Bitterness.
52. لَءَاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍۢ مِّن زَقُّومٍۢ
bookmark 53. Will be filling your bellies with it.
53. فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ
bookmark 54. Will be drinking on top of it boiling water.
54. فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
bookmark 55. Drinking like thirsty camels drink.
55. فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ
bookmark 56. That is their hospitality on the Day of Retribution.
56. هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
bookmark 57. We created you—if only you would believe!
57. نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
bookmark 58. Have you seen what you ejaculate?
58. أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ
bookmark 59. Is it you who create it, or are We the Creator?
59. ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ
bookmark 60. We have decreed death among you, and We will not be outstripped.
60. نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ
bookmark 61. In replacing you with your likes, and transforming you into what you do not know.
61. عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
bookmark 62. You have known the first formation; if only you would remember.
62. وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
bookmark 63. Have you seen what you cultivate?
63. أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ
bookmark 64. Is it you who make it grow, or are We the Grower?
64. ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ
bookmark 65. If We will, We can turn it into rubble; then you will lament.
65. لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ حُطَٰمًۭا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ
bookmark 66. “We are penalized.
66. إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ
bookmark 67. No, we are being deprived.”
67. بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ
bookmark 68. Have you seen the water you drink?
68. أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِى تَشْرَبُونَ
bookmark 69. Is it you who sent it down from the clouds, or are We the Sender?
69. ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَ
bookmark 70. If We will, We can make it salty. Will you not be thankful?
70. لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَٰهُ أُجَاجًۭا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ
bookmark 71. Have you seen the fire you kindle?
71. أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى تُورُونَ
bookmark 72. Is it you who produce its tree, or are We the Producer?
72. ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ
bookmark 73. We have made it a reminder, and a comfort for the users.
73. نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَٰهَا تَذْكِرَةًۭ وَمَتَٰعًۭا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ
bookmark 74. So glorify the Name of your Great Lord.
74. فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
bookmark 75. I swear by the locations of the stars.
75. ۞ فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ
bookmark 76. It is an oath, if you only knew, that is tremendous.
76. وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٌۭ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
bookmark 77. It is a noble Quran.
77. إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرْءَانٌۭ كَرِيمٌۭ
bookmark 78. In a well-protected Book.
78. فِى كِتَٰبٍۢ مَّكْنُونٍۢ
bookmark 79. None can grasp it except the purified.
79. لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ
bookmark 80. A revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
80. تَنزِيلٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 81. Is it this discourse that you take so lightly?
81. أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ
bookmark 82. And you make it your livelihood to deny it?
82. وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ
bookmark 83. So when it has reached the throat.
83. فَلَوْلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَ
bookmark 84. As you are looking on.
84. وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍۢ تَنظُرُونَ
bookmark 85. We are nearer to it than you are, but you do not see.
85. وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ
bookmark 86. If you are not held to account.
86. فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ
bookmark 87. Then bring it back, if you are truthful.
87. تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
bookmark 88. But if he is one of those brought near.
88. فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
bookmark 89. Then happiness, and flowers, and Garden of Delights.
89. فَرَوْحٌۭ وَرَيْحَانٌۭ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍۢ
bookmark 90. And if he is one of those on the Right.
90. وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
bookmark 91. Then, “Peace upon you,” from those on the Right.
91. فَسَلَٰمٌۭ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
bookmark 92. But if he is one of the deniers, the mistaken.
92. وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
bookmark 93. Then a welcome of Inferno.
93. فَنُزُلٌۭ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍۢ
bookmark 94. And burning in Hell.
94. وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
bookmark 95. This is the certain truth.
95. إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ
bookmark 96. So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Magnificent
96. فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
