0. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
bookmark 1. By the aligners aligning.
1. وَٱلصَّٰٓفَّٰتِ صَفًّۭا
bookmark 2. And the drivers driving.
2. فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًۭا
bookmark 3. And the reciters of the Reminder.
3. فَٱلتَّٰلِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا
bookmark 4. Your God is indeed One.
4. إِنَّ إِلَٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌۭ
bookmark 5. Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them; and Lord of the Easts.
5. رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ
bookmark 6. We have adorned the lower heaven with the beauty of the planets.
6. إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ
bookmark 7. And guarded it against every defiant devil.
7. وَحِفْظًۭا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍۢ مَّارِدٍۢ
bookmark 8. They cannot eavesdrop on the Supernal Elite, for they get bombarded from every side.
8. لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍۢ
bookmark 9. Repelled—they will have a lingering torment.
9. دُحُورًۭا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ وَاصِبٌ
bookmark 10. Except for him who snatches a fragment—he gets pursued by a piercing projectile.
10. إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌۭ ثَاقِبٌۭ
bookmark 11. Inquire of them, “Are they more difficult to create, or the others We created?” We created them from sticky clay.
11. فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّن طِينٍۢ لَّازِبٍۭ
bookmark 12. But you wonder, and they ridicule.
12. بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ
bookmark 13. And when reminded, they pay no attention.
13. وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ
bookmark 14. And when they see a sign, they ridicule.
14. وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةًۭ يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ
bookmark 15. And they say, “This is nothing but plain magic.
15. وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ
bookmark 16. When we have died and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected?
16. أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
bookmark 17. And our ancestors of old?”
17. أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
bookmark 18. Say, “Yes indeed, and you will be totally subdued.”
18. قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ
bookmark 19. It will be a single nudge, and they will be staring.
19. فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
bookmark 20. They will say, “Woe to us. This is the Day of Judgment.”
20. وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
bookmark 21. “This is the Day of Separation which you used to deny.
21. هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
bookmark 22. Gather those who did wrong, and their mates, and what they used to worship.
22. ۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ
bookmark 23. Besides God, and lead them to the way to Hell.
23. مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
bookmark 24. And stop them. They are to be questioned.”
24. وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ
bookmark 25. What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another?
25. مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ
bookmark 26. In fact, on that Day, they will be submissive.
26. بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ
bookmark 27. They will come to one another, questioning one another.
27. وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
bookmark 28. They will say, “You used to come at us from the right.”
28. قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
bookmark 29. They will say, “You yourselves were not believers.
29. قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 30. We had no authority over you. You yourselves were rebellious people.
30. وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًۭا طَٰغِينَ
bookmark 31. The Word of our Lord has been realized against us. We are tasting it.
31. فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ
bookmark 32. We seduced you. We were seducers.”
32. فَأَغْوَيْنَٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَٰوِينَ
bookmark 33. On that Day, they will share in the punishment.
33. فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ
bookmark 34. Thus We deal with the sinners.
34. إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
bookmark 35. When it was said to them, “There is no god except God,” they grew arrogant.
35. إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
bookmark 36. And said, “Are we to abandon our gods for a mad poet?”
36. وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍۢ مَّجْنُونٍۭ
bookmark 37. In fact, he came with the truth, and he confirmed the messengers.
37. بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 38. Most assuredly, you will taste the painful punishment.
38. إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ
bookmark 39. And you will be repaid only for what you used to do.
39. وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
bookmark 40. Except for God’s sincere servants.
40. إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
bookmark 41. For them is a known provision.
41. أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ
bookmark 42. Fruits; and they will be honored.
42. فَوَٰكِهُ ۖ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ
bookmark 43. In the Gardens of Bliss.
43. فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
bookmark 44. On furnishings, facing one another.
44. عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
bookmark 45. They will be offered a cup of pure drink.
45. يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍۢ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ
bookmark 46. White; a delight to those who drink.
46. بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍۢ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ
bookmark 47. Never polluted, and never intoxicating.
47. لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌۭ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ
bookmark 48. With them will be bashful women with lovely eyes.
48. وَعِندَهُمْ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌۭ
bookmark 49. As if they were closely guarded pearls.
49. كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌۭ مَّكْنُونٌۭ
bookmark 50. Then they will approach one another, questioning.
50. فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
bookmark 51. One of them will say, “I used to have a friend.
51. قَالَ قَآئِلٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌۭ
bookmark 52. Who used to say, “Are you of those who believe?
52. يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ
bookmark 53. That after we die and become dust and bones, we will be called to account?”
53. أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ
bookmark 54. He will say, “Will you have a look?”
54. قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ
bookmark 55. He will look, and will see him in the pit of Hell.
55. فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
bookmark 56. He will say, “By God, you almost ruined me.
56. قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ
bookmark 57. Were it not for the grace of my Lord, I would have been among the arraigned.”
57. وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ
bookmark 58. “We will not die.
58. أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ
bookmark 59. Except for our first death, and we will not be punished.”
59. إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
bookmark 60. This is the supreme triumph.
60. إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
bookmark 61. For the like of this let the workers work.
61. لِمِثْلِ هَٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَٰمِلُونَ
bookmark 62. Is this a better hospitality, or the Tree of Bitterness?
62. أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌۭ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
bookmark 63. We made it an ordeal for the unjust.
63. إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰهَا فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلظَّٰلِمِينَ
bookmark 64. It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell.
64. إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌۭ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
bookmark 65. Its fruits are like the devils’ heads.
65. طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ
bookmark 66. They will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it.
66. فَإِنَّهُمْ لَءَاكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ
bookmark 67. Then, on top of it, they will have a brew of boiling liquid.
67. ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًۭا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍۢ
bookmark 68. Then their return will be to the Blaze.
68. ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
bookmark 69. They had found their parents astray.
69. إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ
bookmark 70. And rushed along in their footsteps.
70. فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ
bookmark 71. And most of the ancients before them went astray.
71. وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
bookmark 72. Even though We sent messengers to warn them.
72. وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
bookmark 73. So observe the end of those who were warned.
73. فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
bookmark 74. Except for the sincere servants of God.
74. إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
bookmark 75. And Noah called out to Us, and We are the Best of responders.
75. وَلَقَدْ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٌۭ فَلَنِعْمَ ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ
bookmark 76. And We saved him and his family from the great calamity.
76. وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
bookmark 77. And We made his descendants the survivors.
77. وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
bookmark 78. And We left mention of him among those who succeeded.
78. وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
bookmark 79. Peace be upon Noah among all people.
79. سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍۢ فِى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 80. We thus reward the righteous.
80. إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
bookmark 81. He was one of Our believing servants.
81. إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 82. Then We drowned the others.
82. ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ
bookmark 83. Of his kind was Abraham.
83. ۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ
bookmark 84. When he came to his Lord with a sound heart.
84. إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلْبٍۢ سَلِيمٍ
bookmark 85. He said to his father and his people, “What are you worshiping?
85. إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ
bookmark 86. Is it falsified gods, instead of God, that you want?
86. أَئِفْكًا ءَالِهَةًۭ دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ
bookmark 87. So what is your opinion about the Lord of the Worlds?”
87. فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 88. Then he took a glance at the stars.
88. فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةًۭ فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ
bookmark 89. And said, “I am sick.”
89. فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌۭ
bookmark 90. But they turned their backs on him, and went away.
90. فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ
bookmark 91. Then he turned to their gods, and said, “will you not eat?
91. فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
bookmark 92. What is it with you, that you do not speak?”
92. مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ
bookmark 93. Then he turned on them, striking with his right hand.
93. فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢا بِٱلْيَمِينِ
bookmark 94. And they came running towards him.
94. فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ
bookmark 95. He said, “Do you worship what you carve?
95. قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ
bookmark 96. When God created you, and what you manufacture?”
96. وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
bookmark 97. They said, “Build a pyre for him, and throw him into the furnace.”
97. قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَٰنًۭا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
bookmark 98. They wished him ill, but We made them the losers.
98. فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًۭا فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ
bookmark 99. He said, “I am going towards my Lord, and He will guide me.”
99. وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
bookmark 100. “My Lord, give me one of the righteous.”
100. رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
bookmark 101. So We gave him good news of a clement boy.
101. فَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ حَلِيمٍۢ
bookmark 102. Then, when he was old enough to accompany him, he said, “O My son, I see in a dream that I am sacrificing you; see what you think.” He said, “O my Father, do as you are commanded; you will find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.”
102. فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
bookmark 103. Then, when they had submitted, and he put his forehead down.
103. فَلَمَّآ أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلْجَبِينِ
bookmark 104. We called out to him, “O Abraham!
104. وَنَٰدَيْنَٰهُ أَن يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
bookmark 105. You have fulfilled the vision.” Thus We reward the doers of good.
105. قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ ٱلرُّءْيَآ ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
bookmark 106. This was certainly an evident test.
106. إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ
bookmark 107. And We redeemed him with a great sacrifice.
107. وَفَدَيْنَٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍۢ
bookmark 108. And We left with him for later generations.
108. وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
bookmark 109. Peace be upon Abraham.
109. سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
bookmark 110. Thus We reward the doers of good.
110. كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
bookmark 111. He was one of Our believing servants.
111. إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 112. And We gave him good news of Isaac, a prophet, one of the righteous.
112. وَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِإِسْحَٰقَ نَبِيًّۭا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
bookmark 113. And We blessed him, and Isaac. But among their descendants are some who are righteous, and some who are clearly unjust to themselves.
113. وَبَٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسْحَٰقَ ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌۭ وَظَالِمٌۭ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ مُبِينٌۭ
bookmark 114. And We blessed Moses and Aaron.
114. وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
bookmark 115. And We delivered them and their people from the terrible disaster.
115. وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
bookmark 116. And We supported them, and so they were the victors.
116. وَنَصَرْنَٰهُمْ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ
bookmark 117. And We gave them the Clarifying Scripture.
117. وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلْكِتَٰبَ ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ
bookmark 118. And We guided them upon the straight path.
118. وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
bookmark 119. And We left with them for later generations.
119. وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
bookmark 120. Peace be upon Moses and Aaron.
120. سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
bookmark 121. Thus We reward the righteous.
121. إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
bookmark 122. They were of Our believing servants.
122. إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 123. Also Elijah was one of the messengers.
123. وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 124. He said to his people, “Do you not fear?
124. إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
bookmark 125. Do you call on Baal, and forsake the Best of creators?
125. أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًۭا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ
bookmark 126. God is your Lord, and the Lord of your ancestors.”
126. ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
bookmark 127. But they called him a liar, and thus they will be brought forward.
127. فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
bookmark 128. Except for God’s sincere servants.
128. إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
bookmark 129. And We left with him for later generations.
129. وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
bookmark 130. Peace be upon the House of Elijah.
130. سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ
bookmark 131. Thus We reward the virtuous.
131. إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
bookmark 132. He was one of Our believing servants.
132. إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 133. And Lot was one of the messengers.
133. وَإِنَّ لُوطًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 134. We saved him and his family, all of them.
134. إِذْ نَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
bookmark 135. Except for an old woman who lagged behind.
135. إِلَّا عَجُوزًۭا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ
bookmark 136. Then We annihilated the others.
136. ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ
bookmark 137. You pass by them in the morning.
137. وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ
bookmark 138. And at night. Do you not understand?
138. وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
bookmark 139. And Jonah was one of the messengers.
139. وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 140. When he fled to the laden boat.
140. إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
bookmark 141. He gambled and lost.
141. فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ
bookmark 142. Then the fish swallowed him, and he was to blame.
142. فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌۭ
bookmark 143. Had he not been one of those who praised.
143. فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ
bookmark 144. He would have stayed in its belly until the Day they are raised.
144. لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
bookmark 145. Then We threw him into the wilderness, and he was sick.
145. ۞ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌۭ
bookmark 146. And We made a gourd tree grow over him.
146. وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةًۭ مِّن يَقْطِينٍۢ
bookmark 147. Then We sent him to a hundred thousand, or more.
147. وَأَرْسَلْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ
bookmark 148. And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment for a while.
148. فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ
bookmark 149. Ask them, “Are the daughters for your Lord, while for them the sons?”
149. فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
bookmark 150. Or did We create the angels females, as they witnessed?”
150. أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَٰثًۭا وَهُمْ شَٰهِدُونَ
bookmark 151. No indeed! It is one of their lies when they say.
151. أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ
bookmark 152. “God has begotten.” They are indeed lying.
152. وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
bookmark 153. So He preferred girls over boys?
153. أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ
bookmark 154. What is the matter with you? How do you judge?
154. مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ
bookmark 155. Will you not reflect?
155. أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
bookmark 156. Or do you have some clear proof?
156. أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَٰنٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
bookmark 157. Then bring your book, if you are telling the truth.
157. فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
bookmark 158. And they invented a relationship between Him and the jinn. But the jinn know that they will be arraigned.
158. وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًۭا ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
bookmark 159. God be glorified, far above what they allege.
159. سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
bookmark 160. Except for God’s sincere servants.
160. إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
bookmark 161. Surely, you and what you serve.
161. فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ
bookmark 162. Cannot seduce away from Him.
162. مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَٰتِنِينَ
bookmark 163. Except for he who will be roasting in Hell.
163. إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
bookmark 164. “There is not one of us but has an assigned position.
164. وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ
bookmark 165. And we are the arrangers.
165. وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ
bookmark 166. And we are the glorifiers.”
166. وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ
bookmark 167. Even though they used to say.
167. وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ
bookmark 168. “Had we received advice from the ancients.
168. لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
bookmark 169. We would have been God's faithful servants.”
169. لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
bookmark 170. But they rejected it, so they will find out.
170. فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
bookmark 171. Our Word has already gone out to our servant messengers.
171. وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 172. It is they who will be supported.
172. إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ
bookmark 173. And Our troops will be the victors.
173. وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ
bookmark 174. So disregard them for a while.
174. فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ
bookmark 175. And watch them—they will soon see.
175. وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
bookmark 176. Are they seeking to hasten Our punishment?
176. أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
bookmark 177. When it descends into their yard, miserable will be the morning of those forewarned.
177. فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
bookmark 178. So avoid them for a while.
178. وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ
bookmark 179. And watch—they will soon see.
179. وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
bookmark 180. Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, beyond their allegations.
180. سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
bookmark 181. And peace be upon the messengers.
181. وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 182. And praise be to God, the Lord of the Worlds.
182. وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
