0. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
bookmark 1. Ta, Seen, Meem.
1. طسٓمٓ
bookmark 2. These are the Verses of the Clarifying Book.
2. تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
bookmark 3. Perhaps you will destroy yourself with grief, because they do not become believers.
3. لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٌۭ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 4. If We will, We can send down upon them a sign from heaven, at which their necks will stay bent in humility.
4. إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةًۭ فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَٰضِعِينَ
bookmark 5. No fresh reminder comes to them from the Most Merciful, but they turn their backs at it.
5. وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
bookmark 6. They have denied the truth, but soon will come to them the news of what they ridiculed.
6. فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
bookmark 7. Have they not seen the earth, and how many beautiful pairs We produced therein?
7. أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۢ كَرِيمٍ
bookmark 8. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
8. إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 9. Most surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
9. وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
bookmark 10. Your Lord called to Moses, “Go to the tyrannical people.
10. وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
bookmark 11. The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear?”
11. قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
bookmark 12. He said, “My Lord, I fear they will reject me.
12. قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
bookmark 13. And I become stressed, and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron too.
13. وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَٰرُونَ
bookmark 14. And they have a charge against me, so I fear they will kill me.”
14. وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌۭ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ
bookmark 15. He said, “No. Go, both of you, with Our proofs. We will be with you, listening.
15. قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
bookmark 16. Go to Pharaoh, and say, ‘We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Worlds.
16. فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 17. Let the Children of Israel go with us.'“
17. أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
bookmark 18. He said, “Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you stayed among us for many of your years?
18. قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًۭا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
bookmark 19. And you committed that deed you committed, and you were ungrateful.”
19. وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
bookmark 20. He said, “I did it then, when I was of those astray.
20. قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًۭا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
bookmark 21. And I fled from you when I feared you; but my Lord gave me wisdom, and made me one of the messengers.
21. فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًۭا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 22. Is that the favor you taunt me with, although you have enslaved the Children of Israel?”
22. وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌۭ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
bookmark 23. Pharaoh said, “And what is the Lord of the Worlds?”
23. قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 24. He said, “The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, if you are aware.”
24. قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
bookmark 25. He said to those around him, “Do you not hear?”
25. قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ
bookmark 26. He said, “Your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of old.”
26. قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
bookmark 27. He said, “This messenger of yours, who is sent to you, is crazy.”
27. قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌۭ
bookmark 28. He said, “Lord of the East and the West, and everything between them, if you understand.”
28. قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
bookmark 29. He said, “If you accept any god other than me, I will make you a prisoner.”
29. قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ
bookmark 30. He said, “What if I bring you something convincing?”
30. قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
bookmark 31. He said, “Bring it, if you are being truthful.”
31. قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
bookmark 32. So he cast his staff; and it was a serpent, plain to see.
32. فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
bookmark 33. And he pulled his hand; and it was white, for all to see.
33. وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ
bookmark 34. He said to the dignitaries around him, “This is a skilled magician.
34. قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌۭ
bookmark 35. He intends to drive you out of your land with his magic, so what do you recommend?”
35. يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
bookmark 36. They said, “Delay him and his brother, and send recruiters to the cities.
36. قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
bookmark 37. To bring you every experienced magician.”
37. يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍۢ
bookmark 38. So the magicians were gathered for the appointment on a specified day.
38. فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ
bookmark 39. And it was said to the people, “Are you all gathered?
39. وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
bookmark 40. That we may follow the magicians, if they are the winners.”
40. لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ
bookmark 41. When the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, “Is there a reward for us, if we are the winners?”
41. فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ
bookmark 42. He said, “Yes, and you will be among those favored.”
42. قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
bookmark 43. Moses said to them, “Present what you intend to present.”
43. قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ
bookmark 44. So they threw their ropes and their sticks, and said, “By the majesty of Pharaoh, we will be the winners.”
44. فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ
bookmark 45. Then Moses threw his staff, and behold, it began swallowing their trickery.
45. فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
bookmark 46. And the magicians fell down prostrating.
46. فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ
bookmark 47. They said, “We have believed in the Lord of the Worlds.
47. قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 48. The Lord of Moses and Aaron.”
48. رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
bookmark 49. He said, “Did you believe in Him before I have given you permission? He must be your chief, who taught you magic. You will soon know. I will cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you all.”
49. قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍۢ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
bookmark 50. They said, “No problem. To our Lord we will return.
50. قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
bookmark 51. We are eager for our Lord to forgive us our sins, since we are the first of the believers.”
51. إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 52. And We inspired Moses: “Travel with My servants by night. You will be followed.”
52. ۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
bookmark 53. Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities.
53. فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
bookmark 54. “These are a small gang.
54. إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌۭ قَلِيلُونَ
bookmark 55. And they are enraging us.
55. وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
bookmark 56. But we are a vigilant multitude.”
56. وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَٰذِرُونَ
bookmark 57. So We drove them out of gardens and springs.
57. فَأَخْرَجْنَٰهُم مِّن جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ
bookmark 58. And treasures and noble dwellings.
58. وَكُنُوزٍۢ وَمَقَامٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ
bookmark 59. So it was. And We made the Children of Israel inherit them.
59. كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
bookmark 60. And they pursued them at sunrise.
60. فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ
bookmark 61. When the two groups sighted each other, the followers of Moses said, “We are being overtaken.”
61. فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ
bookmark 62. He said, “No; my Lord is with me, He will guide me.”
62. قَالَ كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
bookmark 63. We inspired Moses: “Strike the sea with your staff.” Whereupon it parted, and each part was like a huge hill.
63. فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍۢ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
bookmark 64. And there We brought the others near.
64. وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ
bookmark 65. And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.
65. وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
bookmark 66. Then We drowned the others.
66. ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ
bookmark 67. In that there is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
67. إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 68. Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
68. وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
bookmark 69. And relate to them the story of Abraham.
69. وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
bookmark 70. When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?”
70. إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ
bookmark 71. They said, “We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them.”
71. قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًۭا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ
bookmark 72. He said, “Do they hear you when you pray?
72. قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ
bookmark 73. Or do they benefit you, or harm you?”
73. أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ
bookmark 74. They said, “But we found our ancestors doing so.”
74. قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
bookmark 75. He said, “Have you considered what you worship.
75. قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
bookmark 76. You and your ancient ancestors?
76. أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
bookmark 77. They are enemies to me, but not so the Lord of the Worlds.
77. فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 78. He who created me, and guides me.
78. ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ
bookmark 79. He who feeds me, and waters me.
79. وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ
bookmark 80. And when I get sick, He heals me.
80. وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
bookmark 81. He who makes me die, and then revives me.
81. وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ
bookmark 82. He who, I hope, will forgive my sins on the Day of the Reckoning.”
82. وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
bookmark 83. “My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and include me with the righteous.
83. رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًۭا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
bookmark 84. And give me a reputation of truth among the others.
84. وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍۢ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
bookmark 85. And make me of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss.
85. وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
bookmark 86. And forgive my father—he was one of the misguided.
86. وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
bookmark 87. And do not disgrace me on the Day they are resurrected.
87. وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ
bookmark 88. The Day when neither wealth nor children will help.
88. يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌۭ وَلَا بَنُونَ
bookmark 89. Except for him who comes to God with a sound heart.”
89. إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍۢ سَلِيمٍۢ
bookmark 90. And Paradise will be brought near for the righteous.
90. وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
bookmark 91. And the Blaze will be displayed to the deviators.
91. وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ
bookmark 92. And it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to worship?”
92. وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
bookmark 93. Besides God? Can they help you, or help themselves?”
93. مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
bookmark 94. Then they will be toppled into it, together with the seducers.
94. فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
bookmark 95. And the soldiers of Satan, all of them.
95. وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ
bookmark 96. They will say, as they feud in it.
96. قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ
bookmark 97. “By God, We were in evident error.
97. تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ
bookmark 98. For equating you with the Lord of the Worlds.
98. إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 99. No one misled us except the sinners.
99. وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
bookmark 100. Now we have no intercessors.
100. فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ
bookmark 101. And no sincere friend.
101. وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍۢ
bookmark 102. If only we could have another chance, we would be among the faithful.”
102. فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةًۭ فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 103. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
103. إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 104. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
104. وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
bookmark 105. The people of Noah disbelieved the messengers.
105. كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 106. Their brother Noah said to them, “Do you not fear?
106. إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
bookmark 107. I am to you a faithful messenger.
107. إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
bookmark 108. So fear God, and obey me.
108. فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
bookmark 109. I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
109. وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 110. So fear God, and obey me.”
110. فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
bookmark 111. They said, “Shall we believe in you, when it is the lowliest who follow you?”
111. ۞ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ
bookmark 112. He said, “What do I know about what they do?
112. قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
bookmark 113. Their account rests only with my Lord, if you have sense.
113. إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ
bookmark 114. And I am not about to drive away the believers.
114. وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 115. I am only a clear warner.”
115. إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
bookmark 116. They said, “If you do not refrain, O Noah, you will be stoned.”
116. قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ
bookmark 117. He said, “My Lord, my people have denied me.
117. قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ
bookmark 118. So judge between me and them decisively, and deliver me and the believers who are with me.
118. فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًۭا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 119. So We delivered him and those with him in the laden Ark.
119. فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
bookmark 120. Then We drowned the rest.
120. ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
bookmark 121. In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
121. إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 122. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
122. وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
bookmark 123. Aad disbelieved the messengers.
123. كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 124. When their brother Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?
124. إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
bookmark 125. I am to you a faithful messenger.
125. إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
bookmark 126. So fear God, and obey me.
126. فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
bookmark 127. I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
127. وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 128. Do you build a monument on every height for vanity's sake?
128. أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةًۭ تَعْبَثُونَ
bookmark 129. And you set up fortresses, hoping to live forever?
129. وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ
bookmark 130. And when you strike, you strike mercilessly?
130. وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ
bookmark 131. So fear God, and obey me.
131. فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
bookmark 132. And reverence Him, who supplied you with everything you know.
132. وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ
bookmark 133. He supplied you with livestock and children.
133. أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَٰمٍۢ وَبَنِينَ
bookmark 134. And gardens and springs.
134. وَجَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍ
bookmark 135. I fear for you the punishment of an awesome Day.”
135. إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ
bookmark 136. They said, “It is the same for us, whether you lecture us, or do not lecture.
136. قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ
bookmark 137. This is nothing but morals of the ancients.
137. إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
bookmark 138. And we will not be punished.”
138. وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
bookmark 139. So they denied him, and We destroyed them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
139. فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 140. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
140. وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
bookmark 141. Thamood disbelieved the messengers.
141. كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 142. When their brother Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?
142. إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
bookmark 143. I am to you a faithful messenger.
143. إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
bookmark 144. So fear God, and obey me.
144. فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
bookmark 145. I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
145. وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 146. Will you be left secure in what is here?
146. أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ
bookmark 147. In gardens and springs?
147. فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ
bookmark 148. And fields, and palm-trees whose fruits are delicious?
148. وَزُرُوعٍۢ وَنَخْلٍۢ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌۭ
bookmark 149. And you skillfully carve houses in the mountains?
149. وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًۭا فَٰرِهِينَ
bookmark 150. So fear God, and obey me.
150. فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
bookmark 151. And do not obey the command of the extravagant.
151. وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
bookmark 152. Who spread turmoil on earth, and do not reform.”
152. ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
bookmark 153. They said, “You are surely one of the bewitched.
153. قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
bookmark 154. You are nothing but a man like us. So bring us a sign, if you are truthful.
154. مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
bookmark 155. He said, “This is a she-camel; she has her turn of drinking, and you have your turn of drinking—on a specified day.
155. قَالَ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌۭ لَّهَا شِرْبٌۭ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ
bookmark 156. And do not touch her with harm, lest the punishment of a great day seizes you.”
156. وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍۢ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ
bookmark 157. But they slaughtered her, and became full of remorse.
157. فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَٰدِمِينَ
bookmark 158. So the punishment overtook them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
158. فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 159. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
159. وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
bookmark 160. The people of Lot disbelieved the messengers.
160. كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 161. When their brother Lot said to them, “Do you not fear?
161. إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
bookmark 162. I am to you a faithful messenger.
162. إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
bookmark 163. So fear God, and obey me.
163. فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
bookmark 164. I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
164. وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 165. Do you approach the males of the world?
165. أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 166. And forsake the wives your Lord created for you? Indeed, you are intrusive people.”
166. وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
bookmark 167. They said, “Unless you refrain, O Lot, you will be expelled.”
167. قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
bookmark 168. He said, “I certainly deplore your conduct.”
168. قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ
bookmark 169. “My Lord, save me and my family from what they do.”
169. رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
bookmark 170. So We saved him and his family, altogether.
170. فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
bookmark 171. Except for an old woman among those who tarried.
171. إِلَّا عَجُوزًۭا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ
bookmark 172. Then We destroyed the others.
172. ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ
bookmark 173. And We rained down on them a rain. Dreadful is the rain of those forewarned.
173. وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًۭا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
bookmark 174. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
174. إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 175. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
175. وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
bookmark 176. The People of the Woods disbelieved the messengers.
176. كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
bookmark 177. When Shuaib said to them, “Do you not fear?
177. إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
bookmark 178. I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
178. إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
bookmark 179. So fear God, and obey me.
179. فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
bookmark 180. I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
180. وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 181. Give full measure, and do not cheat.
181. ۞ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ
bookmark 182. And weigh with accurate scales.
182. وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ
bookmark 183. And do not defraud people of their belongings, and do not work corruption in the land.
183. وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
bookmark 184. And fear Him who created you and the masses of old.”
184. وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
bookmark 185. They said, “You are one of those bewitched.
185. قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
bookmark 186. And you are nothing but a man like us; and we think that you are a liar.
186. وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ
bookmark 187. So bring down on us pieces from the sky, if you are truthful.”
187. فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
bookmark 188. He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.”
188. قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
bookmark 189. But they denied him. So the punishment of the day of gloom gripped them. It was the punishment of a great day.
189. فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
bookmark 190. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
190. إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 191. Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.
191. وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
bookmark 192. It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
192. وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
bookmark 193. The Honest Spirit came down with it.
193. نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ
bookmark 194. Upon your heart, that you may be one of the warners.
194. عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
bookmark 195. In a clear Arabic tongue.
195. بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
bookmark 196. And it is in the scriptures of the ancients.
196. وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
bookmark 197. Is it not a sign for them that the scholars of the Children of Israel recognized it?
197. أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
bookmark 198. Had We revealed it to one of the foreigners.
198. وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ
bookmark 199. And he had recited it to them, they still would not have believed in it.
199. فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 200. Thus We make it pass through the hearts of the guilty.
200. كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
bookmark 201. They will not believe in it until they witness the painful punishment.
201. لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
bookmark 202. It will come to them suddenly, while they are unaware.
202. فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
bookmark 203. Then they will say, “Are we given any respite?”
203. فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
bookmark 204. Do they seek to hasten Our punishment?
204. أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
bookmark 205. Have you considered: if We let them enjoy themselves for some years.
205. أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَٰهُمْ سِنِينَ
bookmark 206. Then there comes to them what they were promised.
206. ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
bookmark 207. Of what avail to them will be their past enjoyments?
207. مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ
bookmark 208. Never did We destroy a town, but it had warners.
208. وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
bookmark 209. As a reminder—We are never unjust.
209. ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
bookmark 210. It was not the devils that revealed it.
210. وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
bookmark 211. It is not in their interests, nor in their power.
211. وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
bookmark 212. They are barred from hearing.
212. إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ
bookmark 213. So do not pray to another god with God, else you will be of those tormented.
213. فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ
bookmark 214. And warn your close relatives.
214. وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ
bookmark 215. And lower your wing to those of the believers who follow you.
215. وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
bookmark 216. And if they disobey you, say, “I am innocent of what you do.”
216. فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
bookmark 217. And put your trust in the Almighty, the Merciful.
217. وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bookmark 218. He Who sees you when you rise.
218. ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
bookmark 219. And your devotions amidst the worshipers.
219. وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
bookmark 220. He is indeed the Hearer, the Aware.
220. إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
bookmark 221. Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?
221. هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
bookmark 222. They descend upon every sinful liar.
222. تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍۢ
bookmark 223. They give ear, and most of them are liars.
223. يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَٰذِبُونَ
bookmark 224. And as for the poets—the deviators follow them.
224. وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
bookmark 225. Do you not see how they ramble in every style?
225. أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍۢ يَهِيمُونَ
bookmark 226. And how they say what they do not do?
226. وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ
bookmark 227. Except for those who believe, and do good deeds, and remember God frequently, and defend themselves after they are wronged. As for those who do wrong, they will know by what overturning they will be overturned.
227. إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًۭا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍۢ يَنقَلِبُونَ
